I do not believe you looked at my updated images: I had already covered any blood or ‘threatening male figures’ that were in shot with bound women the last time that you asked me to make alterations. More importantly, there's nothing being depicted in the art that was originally shown before we even began this discussion - including (and especially) the safe versions before you started asking for changes - that isn't on the covers of other comics, magazines, and romance book covers on this site currently, much less abroad for decades.

This is art, and the freedom of Artistic Expression to explore ideas safely and consensually through said art is something Kickstarter said that it supports. There is nothing illegal or wrong about the depictions in my art, despite what Christian Nationals, Project 2025, or any Big Beautiful Bill may say otherwise. Kickstarter said that they were going to continue to support creative expression via this platform and find ways to further these ventures in tandem, yet the censorship has now gone past anything that makes sense. If you want me to put disclaimers all over the page (much like the one that's already there AND inside my books) then I'll be happy to, but what's the point if there isn't a single safe-for-work image that entices buyers and continues to make us both money?

How long until you censor those as well? None of this should have come this far, then, if you're going to pick and choose based on your own perceptions. Or are you simply not shutting it down because a campaign like  SISTER MERCY is making $25k compared to my $8k, or someone like my friends at (also Arizona local) Coffin Comics make a Million in a year? Have the courage of your convictions and defend art, not just a money pipeline, especially if you wish to keep the majority of these cash cows on the Kickstarter platform.

It’s time to either find a compromise or put into precise words why you're kicking me off of your platform, because at this point I am clearly being railroaded past your ever-moving goalposts. I've always played within the boundaries of what Kickstarter was willing to show, which included drawn images that may titillate some or upset others, but that's what art does - safely, and within the confines of human imagination; If viewers want to move on, they can. Whether it’s horror, violence, romance, sexuality, or other subjects, that's why art is there. If Kickstarter is going to stand by its word and continue to make mutually agreed upon products (and funding) then the platform needs to make that stand, as till now it always had. We're professionals and creatives and should be treated as such.
